Supporting the villages and communities we work in is something we take seriously at Hayman-Joyce, and this summer that meant Client Care’s Camilla Hanchet swapping her desk for a day volunteering with Cotswold Friends.
A day spent supporting older people in the Cotswolds
Cotswold Friends is a local charity that has spent more than 45 years supporting older and vulnerable people across the North Cotswolds, offering everything from befriending and community transport to lunch clubs and carer support. As part of the wider Age Friendly Cotswolds network, the charity works to keep older residents connected to their community and supported to live independently.
Camilla spent her volunteering day helping in the office getting a first-hand look at the difference Cotswold Friends makes to the people it supports every day.
Camilla spent the day working in the office, updating volunteer records and checking that information was accurate and complete, including organising and filing records to maintain an orderly system where information could easily be accessed when required. The friendliness and dedication of the staff made a lasting impression, reflecting the importance of the charity’s work.
Camilla says
“It was lovely to spend the day with the team at Cotswold Friends and see first-hand the difference they make. I’d encourage anyone thinking about volunteering locally to get in touch with them.”
Caught on camera
The day was filmed by the team at Cotswold Friends and shared on the Age Friendly Cotswolds Instagram page as part of their ongoing work to raise awareness of the charity’s services.
Proud to support our local community
Being a good local estate agent means being part of the community, not just working in it, and that’s a value the whole team at Hayman-Joyce shares. Giving Camilla time to volunteer with Cotswold Friends is one small way we can give something back to the people and places we’re proud to call home.
