For the team at Hayman-Joyce, community is at the heart of what we do. Our volunteering days give us the chance to support the events, organisations and people that help make our area so special. Recently, Sue Maaz, Senior Lettings Negotiator, rolled up her sleeves to lend a hand at one of the Cotswolds’ most cherished village events – the Cherington and Stourton Show.
Sue spent a busy Friday preparing for the much-loved flower show element, which forms a key part of the day. As she soon discovered, a huge amount of work happens behind the scenes to make the show a success!
From stuffing over 350 envelopes filled with prize money, to polishing trophies and carefully laying out the village hall, Sue was involved in it all. “I had no idea what work goes into this!” she said – a sentiment many of us would agree with when we see the show in full swing on the day itself!
Thanks to the efforts of Sue and the whole team of volunteers, the event went off brilliantly. Visitors were treated to an incredible display of floral arrangements, homegrown produce and homemade crafts. The vegetable entries, in particular, were a sight to behold!
It’s days like these that remind us how lucky we are to live and work in such a vibrant, supportive area. A huge thank you to Sue for giving her time and energy… and congratulations to the organisers for another successful Cherington and Stourton Show. Funds raised go to various charities, including: Warwickshire Air Ambulance and The Cherington and Stourton playing field project.
